Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve made any updates here. Nothing much going on here, keeping busy as usual. But if you’re in the dark and not one of those geeks which is always up to speed, then you should know Firefox 2 was publicly released a few days ago. It packs a crap-load of improvements and several new features. But with new features come a few new found annoyances and I’ve started documenting all the large and small Firefox 2.0 about:config Tweaks to make things feel like previous versions.
Personally I enjoyed the “close tab” button where it was before in previous versions, as the new buttons only seem useful to people with less than 3 mouse buttons and visually annoy me to no end. And while there aren’t many good themes out there yet as there should be, most extensions have been updated well before Firefox 2 was officially released on Tuesday. As a result less feels lost this time around if you’re not counting how things look. Out of my list of 10 extensions by 8 different authors which I regularly use, only one failed to get updated. Now that’s pretty good if you ask me.
Now I’m off to blacklist a few I.P.’s from Amsterdam. Thanks to the Akismet plug-in for WordPress, it’s identified more than 100 junk comments over the past 2 months alone… Argh! Death to spammers.
